Program Director for Leadership and Management Division of Continuing Studies University of Wisconsin-Madison Patrick Jackson is currently a Program Director for Leadership and Management at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Continuing Studies. He was instrumental in the development and teaching of the Career Construction course and Career & Life Plan course (based on Chaos Theory) at Kent State University for students struggling with career decisions. The curriculum for both courses were featured presentations at NCDA and ACPA national conferences. After Kent State University, he was an Associate Director for the African American Male Learning Community and Multicultural Programming at the University of Akron. Using the career construction method, he was instrumental in aiding a diverse group of students in the learning community and a caseload of over 200 first and second year college students to discover their preoccupations and progress towards fulfilling careers. In his current role at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, he directs a variety of professional development training, including a Workplace Coaching Certificate and Human Resources Management Certificate. He has a variety of professional experiences in both higher education and the corporate sector, developing and implementing employee and student programs, serving as a faculty member for career and student transition courses, and chairing several strategic campus-wide committees. He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Student Personnel from Kent State University, a M.S. in Counseling from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a M.S. in Human Resources Management from Purdue University, and B.A. in Psychology from the University of Akron. |
